My Short Response to TFIOS

My response is literal. How is he so popular for such an awfully written book? As a creative writer myself, I feel like he was being rushed and just slapped the ending together. There is no emotional response I received at all reading the book.His characters are boring and it’s awfully edited. There are many GREAT authors who would have deserved a movie, etc. TBH, I feel as though people forced themselves into liking the book. It was so predictable and beyond cliche. The ending had no emotional response whatsoever. There was nothing “climactic” about this book. When I finished it I was just like “that’s it? this is what people are raving about?” Honestly the only people who like this are high-schoolers who do not know real literature. For example, yesterday at school this lame “hippy” guy was like “OMG THAT BOOK WAS SO GOOD, IT WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER READ IN MY LIFE! I CRIED IN CLASS WHEN I FINISHED!” Honestly, I nearly vomited. 1, he did it for female attention (which it actually worked somehow) and 2, if that is the best book you've read in your life, I’m questioning the amount of books you have ever read. Green is so high and mighty with his disgusting, almost fetishizing, romanticizing of cancer, and his comparisons of the “protagonist” (though she shouldn’t be called that, she literally did like nothing in the whole book) Hazel to Anne Frank is disturbing. There is a difference between natural causes of death and genocide, and as a “history buff” you would think John Green would know that. 
There are so many more reasons why this book is horrendous, but i’ll just give the obvious ones since no one here has a very high IQ.

This was a comment on a Buzzfeed article that I posted, but I figured I should post it here too, since I didn't feel like further wasting my breath. Indeed, if you want to add your own two-cents, by all means go ahead. Not lying, I do intend to see this movie just to see if directors somehow improved this dull and pretentious book.
